Those of you who live in the greater Minneapolis area have a couple of great programs coming up this spring. The Guthrie Theater will be doing Hamlet alternately with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead from April 22 to May 4. What a fantastic opportunity to see this play from two very different perspectives! I am really ticked that I will not be able to take advantage of it — I am going to be be in Minneapolis later in May, and I cannot justify two 1200-mile round trips in one month.
The other also has to do with the Guthrie’s run of Hamlet. They have a program called the Shakespeare Classic, designed to introduce Shakespeare’s plays to young people. For the April 27th matinee, all tickets are $10, and all adults MUST be accompanied by a young person (I believe the recommended age is 10 -17).
Details are at the Guthrie website, linked above.
